Why Sync Clover to QuickBooks?
If you run a restaurant on Clover and use QuickBooks Online for accounting, you know the pain of manually entering daily sales. Every morning, someone has to pull yesterday's numbers from Clover and type them into QuickBooks — categories, payment types, tips, taxes, the works.
SalesToBooks eliminates that entirely. Connect once, and your daily sales sync automatically every morning.
What You'll Need
- A Clover POS account with at least one location
- A QuickBooks Online account (any plan)
- About 5 minutes
Step 1: Create Your SalesToBooks Account
Head to salestobooks.com and click "Start Your Free 30-Day Trial." No credit card required. Enter your email and create a password — that's it.
Step 2: Connect Clover
From your dashboard, click Connect POS and select Clover. You'll be redirected to Clover's authorization page. Log in with your Clover credentials and approve access. SalesToBooks only needs read-only access to your sales data.
This takes about 30 seconds.
Step 3: Connect QuickBooks
Next, click Connect Accounting and select QuickBooks Online. You'll be redirected to Intuit's authorization page. Log in and approve access. SalesToBooks is Intuit-approved and listed on the QuickBooks App Store.
Another 30 seconds.
Step 4: Map Your Categories
SalesToBooks will pull your Clover categories (food, beverage, retail, etc.) and your QuickBooks chart of accounts. Map each Clover category to the right QuickBooks account. We suggest common mappings to speed this up.
Do the same for payment types: cash, credit card, gift card — each maps to a QuickBooks account.
Step 5: You're Done
That's it. Tomorrow morning, SalesToBooks will fetch yesterday's sales from Clover, format them as a Sales Receipt with line items per category, and post it to QuickBooks. No manual work required — ever again.
What Gets Synced
- Daily sales summary by category
- Payment type breakdown (cash, credit, gift card)
- Tips and service charges
- Tax collected
- Refunds and discounts
What If Something Goes Wrong?
SalesToBooks uses proactive monitoring. If a sync fails, we detect it automatically, create a support ticket, assign a developer, and fix it — often before you even notice. You'll get an email when it's resolved.
